The HOPE and JOY Programs were created in order to gather the youth from 4-12 years old and their families in activities to promote Orthodox fellowship. It is a program that has been around our Church for many years and has evolved from a handful of families to about 130 families today. We usually meet on Fridays. Each year we make a new calendar and send out monthly notices to our church members to make them aware of any new event dates. Our biggest annual event is the Halloween fundraiser in the Church Hall where the parents, children and the entire community are invited to enjoy the entertainment of a DJ along with food, sweets and beverages. Also, on Christmas, the children gather around the priest to hear the story of Jesus’ birth and do Christmas crafts with family and friends. We hold other events throughout the yea, such as craft nights and game nights. You can get involved by contacting the church office and asking for a registration form for the HOPE/JOY program. We usually have registration forms at the entrance of the church as well. Also, look out for our membership events every September: our movie night where parents can bring their children to watch a movie and register them for soccer or basketball; and our coffee hours after the 1st and 2nd sessions of church at the end of September. We offer many opportunities and encourage all families to join our program. |
